His skill and prowess on the platform meant he was one of the closest athletes to gaining N.I.'s first commonwealth games medal, only narrowly missing out on a podium position.

Those who knew him, or had seen his lifting would frequently comment on his technical ability.

Some saying that his skill with a bar was second to none.
